Flirty Valentine's Day Look [Makeupbee Competition]

Hey everyone!

I'm sure most of you have already heard about Makeupbee.com, but if you haven't already Makeupbee is a website where you can post make up looks that you've created, browse other members looks, and also find out about new products. It's a really great community full of really inspiring, creative, and really supportive people. If you haven't joined yet and you want to just go to www.MakeupBee.com.

A few days ago Makeupbee announced their new "Flirty Valentine Looks Competition" which is in collaboration with Velour Lashes. If you want to learn more about Velour Lashes just head over to their website www.VelourLashes.com. For this competition you had to take inspiration from a set of Velour eyelashes of your choice, and the ones I chose were "Your Day To Shine". I really love using rhinestones in my looks, and these lashes just called out to me as soon as I saw them. It was like love at first sight!

For my look I did a plum and gold eye, paired it with some really dramatic lashes, and added the rhinestones to the lash line to try and re-create the inspiration lashes as best as I could. I think the purple and gold shadows are really flattering, and you could definitely wear this on Valentine's Day with or without the rhinestones.

Spring Fling

Hey everyone!

So I haven't posted a look in a while, but since it was a sunny day out today (for the first time in 3 weeks) I was finally able to! The winter has been so gloomy and overcast making it impossible to take pictures, but when I saw the sun come out this morning I instantly thought what better of a time to do a spring inspired look.

I got inspired by all of the gorgeous colours of spring; from the flowers, sky, trees, and grass and it started off as a really pretty, wearable look that you could wear out during the day. I couldn't just leave it at wearable, so after playing around with the look it somehow turned into a cut crease and this is the final result!

I had a lot of fun creating this look, and I hope it brightened up your day!

Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter Review and Swatches

Hey everyone!

I have a review for you today and it's on the Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butters. This product has been really hyped up on Youtube and a lot of bloggers have talked about them already, but I have now acquired 5 of them over the past few months and have had a while to try them out and I wanted to share my opinion of them with you.

I have always been a fan of Revlon lip products, and I have quite a few of them now. I'm a big fan of the ColorBurst Lip Glosses, I think they are great quality for the price, have great colour pay of and aren't overly sticky. I also have a few of the ColorBurst Lipsticks, and I really like those as well. When I had started reading reviews on their new Lip Butters I was instantly excited to try them out.

I'll start off with my thoughts on the packing. I first noticed that they are pretty much the same size as the ColorBurst Lipsticks which I was happy about. I really like that the Lip Butters have a little window in the top of the cap so that you can see what the colour inside is easily, unlike the lipsticks which just have a solid colour on the top of the cap. The cap is translucent, has a cute quilted design like the lipsticks, and is tinted to represent the colour inside the tube. This makes finding the colour you are looking for much quicker.

Revlon describes this product as a "Buttery Balm with beautiful shiny color to give you baby soft, healthy glowing lips. 94% of women felt lips were softer, smoother, and instantly hydrated." I live in Canada, and I'm used to really dry winter weather which really sucks the moisture out of my skin, and for me personally these Lip Butters did not hydrate my lips at all. I'm sure if you had really soft lips already that aren't prone to chapping or cracking and you don't need a lot of moisture then this product would be perfect for you. These Lip Butters apply very smoothly, have a beautiful sheen to them, and aren't sticky.

Although I was kind of disappointed that these didn't work for me moisture wise, the pigmentation of these Lip Butters are great. This product isn't like the traditional lip butters that I'm used to seeing, they are more like a creamy lipstick. The longevity of the product is decent, I find I don't have to re-apply very often. I love the colour selection that they have, and there are shades that will compliment every skin tone.

Overall, I give the Revlon Lip Butters a 3.5 out of 5. I definitely recommend picking some up and trying them out for yourself!

New Years Eve Eyes and Nails!

Hey everyone,

I hope you all had an amazing holiday! I had a really great time with my family and I'm sad that it's all over now! My favourite part of the holidays is getting to spend time with my family, and the awesome dinner that we cook every year. So delicious! :) What's your favourite part of the holidays? Leave a comment below I'd love to hear!

Today I have an eye look for you that is kind of different than the normal New Years Eve looks. (that I usually do anyway) I used silver, blue, and gray eyeshadows and added some sparkle to the inner corner with some silver glitter liner. The look is more on the dramatic side, but I think on New Years you may as well go all out because it only comes once a year, and I think putting more emphasis on your eyes is only appropiate for such an occasion!

I also want to share with you guys my nail design that I came up with for New Years Eve! On my nails I'm wearing Daddy's Girl #481 by Sinful Colours. I honestly don't know why I don't use this nail polish more often. It has a gorgeous sheen, tons of purple glitter, and when the light hits it it just sparkles! Perfect for NYE. On my ring finger I'm wearing Wet n Wild nail polish in Kaleidoscope, and I added some rhinestones on top to the tips of my nails as well. Next time I think I'll go for smaller rhinestones because I feel these are a bit too large for my nails, but I still think it's super cute.

Update / A Few Looks For You Guys!

Hey everyone!

So it's been while... so where to start? I know I've been very, very, very MIA lately and some of you were wondering why I stopped posting at Day 12 of my 30 Day Challenge and that simple answer to that is a lot of things have been going on which have prevented me from posting. I don't want to make excuses, but life has really gotten in the way lately and if you'd like to know what's been going on feel free to read my sure to be huge paragraph below, if not I have posted some new looks at the bottom of this post for you to look at!

It started with my awful flu that I had for a week that didn't seem to want to go away, then followed by my malfunctioning desktop which had me re-installing Windows more times than I can count on one hand. My desktop has now completely broken.. (sigh) but luckily my boyfriend is nice enough to let me use his laptop so I can use Photoshop to edit my photo's and post them. Some other personal things have been going on in my life as well, which I don't really want to discuss here, but I hope you understand. Also, December has just been a really busy month as it usually is for most people because the holidays have started which for me means parties, Christmas shopping, family events, also my 4 year anniversary, and the list goes on!

But, I would like to apologize for my absence, and I am getting back to regular posting starting.... now! As for the 30 day Challenge, I think I may have to tackle that again at another time because I think my absence has definitely been a little too long to pick that back up where I left off.

But for right now I do have a few looks to share with you, some which are perfect for Holiday parties, events, and get-togethers. I hope you enjoy them! 30 Day Makeup Challenge! (Day Twelve)

Hey everyone!

Today is day number 12 in my 30 Day Makeup Challenge, and if you're new to my blog (welcome!) and wondering what this challenge is it is a challenge where I post one eye look on my blog every day for 30 days to better my skill, and also to give you guys some inspiration for your eye looks! Feel free to check my blog archive to see my previous looks if you haven't already!

So for day number 12 I did a gold and brown eye look, but today I am featuring another Leishi pigment that has barely gotten any use and I have no idea why I don't reach for it more often. To explain how I achieved this look I used my Leishi Pigment in #13 and applied it wet with MAC Fix+ all over the lid leaving the inner corner bare. I then placed Urban Decay's Half Baked eye shadow on the inner corner and along my bottom lash line. To deepen the look I used Urban Decay's Twice Baked eye shadow and blended that into my crease and along the outer corner of my lower lash line. I used my usual highlight from the Wet n Wild Lust Palette and applied that underneath my brow to brighten it up and to blend out any harsh lines. Then I took my favourite liquid liner from Wet n Wild and lined my top lash line, and applied a few coats of mascara to my lashes. Really easy to do and took no time at all. I really like how vibrant these Leishi pigments are when they are applied wet, they really pop out at you. Hope you all like it!

30 Day Makeup Challenge! (Day Eleven)

Hey everyone!

It is day eleven in my 30 Day Makeup Challenge, and I have a kind of an edgier look for you today. I've been doing a lot of toned down eye looks lately and I wanted to do something dramatic and fun and this is what I came up with. I went with a cat eye shape for this look so I placed a piece of tape on my outer corner to get a really crisp line. Then I used NYX's Jumbo Pencil in Black Bean to outline the cat eye shape, and I used two eye shadows from my 120 palette and placed them over top of the base. I didn't want to go with flat black because I wanted this look to be dark but not overbearing so I mixed two silver eye shadows instead. I then added some silver rhinestones on the outer corner to give this look more of an edge. Hope you all like it!

30 Day Makeup Challenge! (Day Ten)

Hey everyone!

Happy Monday! Here is look number ten in my 30 Day Makeup Challenge. In Canada right now it's getting really cold, and we've already had a few snow falls, and I'm really *really* missing summer which happens to be my favourite season. Summer goes by so fast here and transitions into winter so quickly it's ridiculous. Also, right now the sun is coming up later in the morning (but even then it's constantly overcast), and goes down really early so it's quite hard lately to get a picture in natural sunlight so please excuse the awful picture in fluorescent light. Anyway, because winter can be really drab, and because I'm missing summer so much I decided to wear some warmer eye shadows today and go with a coral and brown eye. Sorry the photo does not do this look justice, it is absolutely gorgeous in person. What is your favourite season? Do you change your make up with the changing seasons: warm colours in the spring/summer, and dark vampy shades in the fall/winter? Leave a comment below, I'd love to know.

30 Day Makeup Challenge! (Day Nine)

Hey everyone!

I hope you all had a great weekend, is it really over already? Today I have look number nine for you in my 30 Day Makeup Challenge. I didn't have a lot of time to do my makeup today because I was in a rush to leave this morning, so I did my favourite 5 minute eye look with silver and brown and added some gold on the bottom lash line instead of the usual brown just to change it up. I did my usual winged eye liner and added a few coats of mascara and was out the door. Do you have a favourite "go to" eye look that you wear when you're in a rush? Do you go with natural looks or do you go for something more colourful? I've always been a big fan of easy 5 minutes looks that are wearable but still on the colourful side as well. This is look number eight in my 30 Day Makeup Challenge. This is a really sexy purple look that would be great to wear to a party, or on a night out.. unless you're like me and love wearing dramatic eyes even during the day. I really love this pigment when it's applied wet because the colour is so vibrant and it really draws attention to the eyes because of the colour and the fact that it shimmers beautifully when the light hits it. 30 Day Makeup Challenge! (Day Seven)

Hey everyone!

So here is my *seventh* look for my 30 Day Makeup Challenge, which also means that the first week in my challenge is complete! Yay! I hope you all are enjoying this series so far because I'm having a great time doing it!

Today I did an every day neutral eye using my 88 Warm Palette, and spruced the look up with some teal eye liner. For the liner I used a teal eye shadow from my 120 palette, sprayed some MAC Fix + onto a liner brush and applied my eye liner as I normally would. This look is really simple and didn't take a lot of time which sometimes I like because I don't always have a lot of time to do my make up. I think this look is really cute and is a great way to bring attention to the eyes without having to spend a lot of time on them. Hope you all like it!

30 Day Makeup Challenge! (Day Six)

Hey everyone,

Happy Thursday! I hope you all are having a great week! Here is look number six for my 30 Day Makeup Challenge! Today I finally got around to using a pigment that I've always been dying to use but never really knew what to do with, so I incorporated it into this look. It is a grayish green duo-chrome pigment (which I think is absolutely gorgeous) and I applied the shadow wet all over the lid, and tapered it into a cat eye shape on the outer corner. The shape really elongates the eye, and I really like how it turned out. Hope you all like it as well, and I will be back tomorrow with look number seven!

30 Day Makeup Challenge! (Day Five)

Hey everyone!

Here is look number five for my 30 Day Makeup Challenge! I was in a rush yesterday morning but I was about to take the picture of my look yesterday, but unfortunately I was so busy all day and was not able to post it last night because I was exhausted, but I hope you all don't mind that I am posting it now. I used my Wet n Wild Comfort Zone palette to create this look and I really like these palettes because it gives you two rows of eye shadows (8 in total) and each 4 eye shadows in the row go with each other so it really takes the guess work out of pairing eye shadows together which can sometimes be difficult. I am really loving Wet n Wild's eye shadows because they are extremely pigmented and blend-able, as well as affordable. I hope you all enjoy this look!

It's a really pretty plum and champagne look that I think would be great to wear on a night out, or even for the upcoming holidays! The champagne shadow on the middle of the lid really stands out with the concentration of the plum eye shadow on the inner and outer corners which is something different than I normally do. 30 Day Makeup Challenge! (Day Three)

Hey everyone!

Here's another really easy look to wear everyday that I created only using two eye shadows. I took a metallic brown shadow from my 120 palette and placed it all over my lid and blended up, and then placed an eye shadow from Urban Decay called "Midnight Cowboy Rides Again" (I love this eye shadow) which is a glittery neutral shade and placed that in the middle of my lid to give the look a bit of dimension instead of looking flat. Added some liner and a coat of mascara and I was done in about 5 minutes. I know I've been doing wearable looks for the past few days, but I will be posting some dramatic looks soon. :)

30 Day Makeup Challenge! (Day Two)

Hey everyone!

So this is my look for Day Two of the 30 Day Makeup Challenge! It's very simple silver and brown smokey eye which I love to wear all the time because it's quick and easy, takes me no longer than 5 minutes to do, and it's great look when you're in a rush! I sometimes even swap out the black eye liner for purple or blue just to give it a pop of colour!

Also, I really encourage all of you to do something that you've always wanted to do/try for 30 days! By trying something for 30 days you'll really be able to get a feel of whether you enjoy this particular thing you're trying or not and at the end it's really beneficial because you did something for 30 days, and maybe you will have even adopted something new into your life that perhaps you may not have otherwise such as a lifestyle changes, or maybe you will find that you're really good at something and may keep doing it past the 30 days! 30 Day Makeup Challenge! (Day One)

Hey everyone!

I decided about a week ago that I wanted to try and do the 30 Day Makeup Challenge, which essentially means that I will be posting an eye look every day for 30 days. I don't wear make up everyday because I feel that your skin needs to breathe, but I really wanted to do this because not only will it give me the chance to practice and better my skills, but I really wanted to get some more content on my blog and this will definitely motivate me to post more and thus more eye looks for you all to see!

So during this 30 Day Challenge I'll be posting a variety of different looks (which I haven't planned out I'm just going to do a look a day and post it on here) so you'll get to see some natural/everyday/work appropriate makeup, dramatic and colourful makeup, and maybe even some celebrity inspired looks. I think I'm going to have a lot of fun with this, and I hope you guys will too!

Black & Blue

Hey everyone!

I've been trying to get back on the ball with posting, so I have another look for you today! I realized when I was looking through my palettes deciding what to do that I never reach for my blue eye shadows.. I don't know why that is, but I decided to do a look with them today and it's a dramatic blue smokey eye perfect for a night out, a party, or for those people who love dramatic eyes and like to wear them out in the day (like me) it's perfect for you as well, of course. A lot of people find blue eye shadows tacky but I really encourage people experimenting with colour in their eye looks and branch out from the every day neutral eye. If this is too dramatic for you, try using a blue eye shadow/liner on your top lash line to incorporate colour while still being toned down. Halloween Look : Mermaid / Princess Makeup

Hey everyone!

Today I have a Mermaid look that I created for you, but if you aren't going as a mermaid and are going as a princess, or something cute, fun, and girly you could definitely wear the eye make up and skip the scales. It's an extremely easy look to create and the eyes only took me five minutes to do.

To create the scale detailing I took some fishnets that I already had, (which had medium sized holes) and they were perfect size to create the scales on the side of the face. I cut the fishnets and placed it against the side of my face (be sure to keep it taught) and with a fluffy brush I pressed the eye shadows against the fishnet and began the gradient from blue to the green. Be sure to carefully removed the fishnet so that you don't rub any of the eyeshadows off. I did this in one try, but I suggest trying it out once or twice before Halloween just to make sure that you're going to get it perfect. I hope that you all liked the look, I had a lot of fun doing it. Enjoy!

Hallows Eve

Hey everyone!

I know Halloween is next month but while I was at my local Walmart yesterday picking up some things I walked by the Halloween section and couldn't resist taking a look at all the cool stuff they had. Halloween is my favourite holiday because you get to let your creative side out with costumes and make up, so I got inspired to do a Halloween look and this is what I came up with! I used the traditional colour scheme to create this look, and since I love dramatic eyes I decided to cut my crease to add some more intensity.

I know I've been posting dramatic looks lately and I would really like to know what looks you are interested in seeing on my blog! Fall Inspired Eyes

Hey everyone!

As sad as it is, summer is coming to an end.. (already...?) and fall is just around the corner! I know it doesn't officially start until September 23rd but I wanted to kick off the season early with a Fall Inspired look! The colours I chose for this look were inspired by the changing colours of the leaves in Autumn. Glitter!

Hey everyone!

I took a very much needed break from packing today and decided to sit down and do a spur of the moment make up look. I didn't know what I was going to do, so I just kind of went for it! I took out my Urban Decay Sustainable Palette and told myself that I was going to get some use out of the glitter shades since they've never really been touched (the glitter fall out from the shadows can be horrendous) so I just sprayed some MAC Fix+ and on my brush and didn't have too much trouble fortunately! The look is pretty neutral, but I like that the glitter brightened up my eyes and really drew attention to them.

Hey everyone!

So I want to start off this post by welcoming all of my new readers and followers! Thank you so much for taking the time to read my posts, and leaving me all of these amazing comments I am just blown away by your support!

I owe a huge thank you to Ronnie for her amazing shout-out that she posted on her blog! I cannot even begin to explain how truly thankful and appreciative I am! I never expected anyone to give me a shout-out and I couldn't even believe that it was me that it was happening to, especially by someone as undeniably talented as her! So thank you so much Ronnie, and if any of my readers have not already checked her out please do because I absolutely adore her make up looks. :)

Also, I just wanted to give you all an update since I haven't been posting as much as usual. I have been so swamped with packing because in less than 1 week I am moving to my new house and might not be able to post any new looks for a few weeks after I move. Jessie J Rhinestone Inspired Eyes

Hey everyone!

So this is definitely a different kind of look that I have for you guys!
Today I saw a picture of Jessie J at an event rocking dark smoky eyes and black rhinestones on her upper and lower lash line and I thought that it was pretty interesting idea and wanted to try the rhinestones out. Jessie J always does really different things with her make up and I personally think her looks never disappoint!

So I incorporated some rhinestones into the look I did today and placed them along my lower lash line and this is the finished look! I don't normally include accessories like this into my eye looks, but I'm curious what you guys think about using accessories in make up looks? Do you use them at in your looks or would you try it out? I think that they are a really fun idea and they allow you to get really creative! Leave a comment below and tell me what you think!

Nicole Scherzinger - "Right There" Inspired Eyes

Hey everyone! I know I'm a little late on this, but I just saw the music video for Nicole Scherzinger's "Right There" and towards the end of the video she had this really pretty yellow eye shadow look on so I thought that I would try and re-create it. It was a bit hard to get a really good look at her eyes, but I did notice that the yellow was really concentrated on the lid and inner corner, and from what I could tell it was more on the shimmery side than matte. Also from what I can tell they contoured the side of her nose where it meets the brow, so I took a brown eye shadow and did the same, but also brought it into my crease to add a little depth. Underneath Nicole's brow bone was really highlighted so I just placed a shimmery white eye shadow under mine as well. Then I went and applied some mascara and some false lashes, and lastly used a black eye liner pencil on my waterline to finish off the look. I included my inspiration photos below so that you can see them, and I hope you enjoyed my look. :)

Golden Pink EOTD

Hey everyone!

So this is a little late, (oops!) but this was my EOTD from yesterday August 6th!

So a few days ago I unearthed my container that holds all of my pigments (I'm currently in the process of moving houses and can't find half of my stuff) and I found my favourite Annabelle Pigment Dust in Golden Pink and thought that it would be a perfect time to use it because it's quite a summery colour. I used a dark pink almost copper eye shadow from my 88 Warm Palette as the base colour and placed the Golden Pink pigment over top I love how it came out. :)

Perfect Neutral "Back To School" Eyes

Hey everyone! Today I created pretty neutral eye that will be perfect to wear for those starting school soon! This look is great if you are just starting to experiment with makeup and want to keep it toned down and natural but this is also a great work appropriate look or an every day go to look.

Note: Now the reason why I am posting this now is because I've heard that in the US their schools start throughout the month of August, but in Canada I think for the most part the school year starts at the beginning of September.

Now I used my 28 neutral palette for this look since it's really inexpensive and it has some great eye shadows that are really beautiful and will compliment every eye colour and flatter every skin tone. I included a photo that shows which shadows I used and where to apply them for reference! Since I chose mostly matte eye shadows for this look I placed a shimmery white eye shadow on the center on my lids to make them pop a little bit. Summer Night Out..

Hey everyone!

How is everyone enjoying their summer? I have to say that I love it when summer finally comes around because Canada can get pretty cold so when summer hits it's extra exciting because we wait so long for it.

Today I decided to create a summer night out look that would be great to wear to a party/event/club that will stand out. If you like wearing false lashes I think incorporating a set would add some more thickness to the lashes and would bring even more attention to the eyes.

Harry Potter Series: Gryffindor Inspired Eyes

Hey everyone!

Now for the final look in my Harry Potter houses' inspired series: Gryffindor!

Gryffindor's house colours are red/scarlet and gold. For the other houses I did pretty dramatic looks, but for this look I kept it simple. I used two gold eye shadows on my lid, and layered different shades of red into my crease. Unfortunately the picture does not do this look justice, in person it looks really beautiful. Harry Potter Series: Hufflepuff Inspired Eyes

Hi everyone, I hope you're having a great weekend!

Here is the second look for my Harry Potter series, and the house I chose to do was Hufflepuff. The house colours are yellow and black, so I used two yellow eye shadows from my 120 palette on my lid, and did a cut crease with a black eye shadow from the same palette. I smudged the black eye shadow onto my bottom lashline, added some black eyeliner to my waterline and finished off the look with some mascara and false lashes. I hope you guys liked the look and give it a try!

Harry Potter Series: Slytherin Inspired Eyes

Hey everyone!

As everyone knows, the last Harry Potter movie is coming out and I thought I would do some looks inspired by the four Hogwarts houses!

First I chose to do the Slytherin house and used silver, green, and black eye shadows to create this look. It was really simple to do and wouldn't take long to re-create! I put the silver eye shadow on the inner corner, a forest green all over the lid, and placed a black shadow into the outer corner and blended the colour slightly into the crease. I mirrored the shadows from the top lash line to the bottom and finished off the look with a black eyeliner on my waterline and some black mascara.

I hope all of the Slytherin lovers will rock this look when you go to see the movie!

Lavender Daytime Eyes

I just recently received my 28 neutral palette in the mail, which was in transit for two very long months may I add.. and when I got it I immediately saw the lavender eye shadow and just had to use it because it is such a gorgeous colour. I kept this look very simple, not dramatic so it's great for daytime/work wear. Also it brings a pop of colour to the lids while still staying toned down and wearable and is a welcome break from the everyday neutral eye. Hope you enjoy!

Hey everyone!

I'm trying to get back in the habit of posting on my blog regularly so I'm posting my eye makeup that I rocked today for you guys!

Since I organized my makeup collection recently I unearthed some palettes and products that I had forgotten about so I decided to use my 88 shimmer & warm palette today and this is the look I created!

Teal eye shadows really suit blue and green eyes nicely, and when browns are incorporated it creates a really nice contrast and makes the teal on the lid really pop!

Sunset Eyes (revisted) featuring the Sleek Acid Palette

Hey everyone!

Recently I was re-organizing all of makeup and stumbled across my Sleek Acid Palette that I bought a while ago and decided to use it today for an revisited version of my bright bold "Sunset Eyes" that I did last year.

In my previous sunset look I used green and blue shadows for my lower lashline, but this time I opted for just using a pink and purple eyeshadow instead to keep it a little more toned down. I love that this palette is very versatile and I love the pigmentation of the shadows. I'm glad that I took it out and got some use out of it. This is a great bold look that I'm definitely going to be rocking more often this summer!

False Eyelash Applicator Overview

Hey everyone! I'm writing a short overview today on a handy tool that I just picked up recently and I found it really useful so I wanted to share it with you guys!

So this handy little contraption is an eyelash applicator that I purchased from Ebay and cost me approximately $1.50 CAD and took about 2 weeks to arrive. For anyone who does not want to wait two weeks, (I don't blame you) they do have eyelash applicators similar in drugstores and on the ELF website.

If you are just starting using false eyelashes or having trouble applying them then this tool will be very helpful to you, but also helpful to experienced lash users as well. This applicator will help you achieve more precise placement when applying your lashes than if you were just applying them by hand. The applicator has a rounded edge which mimics the natural shape of your eye which makes applying lashes more simple. The lash stand that is included helps keep the rounded curve of the lashes, and makes grabbing onto them with the clip easier. Now just to be clear, this clip helps to apply your lashes, not apply them perfectly for you, you still need to tweek and perfect the lashes yourself to get them just right! I am really glad that I purchased this, I really recommend that everyone pick one of these up as well!

Bright Bold Eyes for Spring!

Hey everyone! Since the weather has been so great lately I got inspired to create a look for Spring, and I chose to go with a simple look, but with a twist.

I incorporated vibrant colours onto the lid, and kept the eye simple with adding some thin liner to my upper lash line and winging it out in the outer corner. I decided to play up my lashes so that they would stand out against the bright eyeshadows on the lid. Since the look was bright enough I did not apply any eyeshadows onto my lower lashline only some mascara to my lower lashes.

I think this look is really fun, and it's great because you can tweak it to your own taste by adding either pretty pastel shadows on the lid, or more vibrant shadows if you prefer bolder eyes, both which are perfect for Spring.

Perfect Valentines Day Makeup for Day and Night

For those who are having trouble trying to think of some eye makeup to wear for Valentines Day, I put together two looks that I think are perfect to wear on this special occasion, and I thought I would share them with you to give you some inspiration!

I started off by creating a look that's more on the pretty wearable day time side by adding pinks, purple, and soft browns. As for the night time look, a more sultry eye with black, browns, and some dramatic false lashes.

I'm going to be doing a review on some products I received from BornPrettyStore.com. I was able to select some items that I wanted to try out and review, and the first thing I chose was the makeup kit that they offer which comes with: 2 cream liners, 8 Pigments, and a set of 6 brushes. I also chose a rhinestone wheel which comes with a variety of different colours that I can use when doing nail art, or maybe even with some makeup looks.

Starting with the pigments I received I quickly noticed that they were "Leishi" pigments. Short story: I was actually kind of excited about this because I watched quite some time ago a ton of videos on Youtube of girls using these Leishi pigments which you used to be able to get in a huge lot on Ebay for a really decent price. But I haven't been able to find anything like that anymore. They don't come in a substantially large lot, just smaller ones. Kind of annoying. Moving on, these pigments have great pigmentation! The staying power is great, and they look amazing when applied dry or wet. I love them.

I included swatches off all these pigments below(on top of an eyeshadow base, with no medium). I took pictures of the swatches with and without flash. I also included picture of all the pigments numbers if you are interested!

Now for the cream liners. When I received them they were a little dried out. I had to revive them with some Fix + before I was able to use them. They gave two colours which were a black and a shimmery white. The black applies nicely, and is true black, but the white I personally would prefer to use as a very subtle highlight under the brow or in the inner corner of the eye for a little sparkle because the shimmer inside is what stands out more than the actual colour of the liner itself. But I must say it gives an adorable sheen, which I love.

And the last part to this makeup kit is the brushes. The brushes came inside a silver pouch similar to a brush roll. The hair on the brushes is synthetic which works best when using pigments, or any type of cream products. It included a face brush, eyeshadow brush, angled liner brush, lip brush, small liner brush, sponge tip applicator, and a lash and brow comb. These brushes would work best for someone who is just learning makeup because it gives almost all of the essentials you need to create your looks. Admittedly it doesn't come with everything, but the brushes themselves being synethic make them quite useful even to a more advanced artist.

To to finish off the review of the makeup kit I decided to include an Eyes of the Day using some of the products that I received! I decided to go with a sultry neutral look because I absolutely loved the shimmering brown (#73) pigment. I just had to use it. I applied a neutral shadow all over the lid, then took the white liner and used it underneath my brown bone and in the inner corner of my eyes underneath the white pigment (#10) that came with the kit as well to add some sparkle. Then I used the angled liner brush from the kit and took MAC's Satin Taupe eyeshadow and lined my upper and lower lashline. I also blended some into my outer crease to add some dimension. Lastly, I finished off the look with some Black Brown LashBlast Macara.

The rhinestgone wheel I received is great also! I love the colour selection and I will be using them in upcoming Nails of the Week, and will include more information about them then.

Perfect Simple Holidays Nails

Hey everyone!

Hope you all have had a fantastic week! Unfortunately for me I had come down with a terrible flu right before Christmas and I still can't seem to shake it off. I'm hoping to be better before I have to go back to work this week!

On a happier note, I just wanted to share with you my nails of the day for December 25th, better late than never!

These fun festive nails that are perfect for the holidays and are super easy to achieve! Here's the steps to re-create these nails.

Step 1: Start off with a base coat to help the polishes stick to your nails and fill in any ridges to help create a smoother surface to work with.

Step 2: Take a red nail polish and apply it to all nails except your ring fingers. I used Sally Hansens Xtreme Wear Polish in Cherry Red.

Step 3: Apply a dark green polish to your ring fingers. These will be the "statement" nails. I used Sally Hansen's Insta-Dri polish in 4917-22.

Step 4: Take a clear nail polish with quite noticeable glitters and apply that over all your nails. I usd Wet n Wild Wild Shine Polish in Kaleidoscope.

Step 5: Finish with a top coat to prolong the wear of your polishes and prevent chipping.

I hope you enjoy these and will try them out! They are really cute. Add some cute designs to them to make them even more adorable.

Eyes of the Day [December 4th]

Hey everyone, it's been a while!

I know in my last post I stated that I had been very busy, and unfortunately that hasn't changed. I have been working a lot but fortunately was able to finally get the time to play around with my 88 neutral palette, and this is what came out! I used three very pale shades for the lid area, then a darker purple for the outer v and crease, then on top of that added a more vibrant purple to brighten it up a little. Added some liquid liner, and mascara to finish it off.

Hope you enjoy, and I hope to be able to update my blog more often.

Sleek Makeup - Limited Edition Circus Palette

Here are the swatches as promised in my last blog post for the Sleek Makeup Circus Palette! Received this in the mail two days ago and just love all 12 shadows. I thought that some of the colours in this palette may be duplicates from the acid palette, but thankfully there aren't except for the white eyeshadow. The black shadow in this palette is completely matte, whereas the black in the acid palette has more of a shimmer so it's good to have the option of both. All of the colours are unique, and of course, extremely pigmented. Some of these colours are absolutely stunning. There is a mixture of matte and shimmer eyeshadows, & some have a metallic like finish and are gorgeous. Expect a tutorial with this palette soon, along with a tutorial with my Acid Palette as well. Sleek Makeup - Acid Palette

So about two to three weeks ago I saw a few reviews on some Sleek Makeup palettes on Youtube that you can purchase in the United Kingdom, or online at sleekmakeup.com and fortunately I was able to get my hands on a few of their palettes! The first one I am going to swatch is the Acid Palette. The colours immediately caught my eye and I fell in love. The neon shadows are what sold me on this palette, because I don't own anything eyeshadow like this and have been wanting to get a few "neon" shadows to incorporate into my collection. Not only does this palette have amazing colours, the colour payoff of the eyeshadows is surprisingly extraordinary. Use a mixing medium to get ultimate colour payoff and vibrancy, not like these shadows need it! Pigmentation is a must when purchasing eyeshadows and this palette does not dissapoint one bit. Well worth the money.

So here is a picture of the palette that I took and I assigned a name to each eyeshadow so when you look at the swatches you'll know which shadow correspondes to each swatch. All swatches were applied on top of a primer and all pictures were taken with flash. (* R1 stands for Row 1 & R2 stands for Row 2.)

If you are able get your hands on this palette, I really think you should! I wish it was easier for me to get their products, sadly they don't sell them in Canada. EOTD: Silver & Brown Smokey Eye (:

I took out my 88 palette today and this came out! I a light silver colour and applied it over the lid, then blended a medium brown into the crease. Then I took MAC's Gesso and applied it as my highlight, and used MAC's Satin Taupe to darken up the outer corner. Carried this method onto my lower lashline as well. Took a shimmering white eyeshadow from the 88 shimmer palette, then added some liquid liner and false lashes!

Nailene "French Manicure" & NYC Hot Pink

Hey everyone, hope you are all having a great week! This is my NOTW photo for the first week of April. I know I'm posting it on the second week, but I had forgotten that I had taken a picture before I painted my nails today. so good thing I did take it! If you want to see a tutorial on how I did it then I would be glad to do it for you, it's honestly the simplest thing! :) So I used my Nailene French Manicure polishes and did a regular french manicure like you normally would, then I just applied a thin strip of pink nailpolish following the lines of the french tip really closely and this is what I can up with. A cute wait to wear your mani and give it attitude and personality to make it your own! Enjoy!

How-To: ► Get More Out Of Your Urban Decay Primer Potion

So recently I thought I had finished the end of my bottle of Urban Decay Primer potion and I was bummed that I'd have to drive 45 minutes away just to go pick up so more, so instead I decided to cut open the bottle and guess what I found?.. 5 extra grams of primer potion I didn't know I had because the packaging is so sneaky that you wouldn't know that there was extra in there! You'd think that the bottle would be done.. Nope! Wrong. Enjoy your extra 5 grams of primer everyone! :) Now I can postpone the trip for at least another month!

I was given the opportunity to try out and review the Skin MD Natural Moisturizer. It is a all natural, fragrance, colorant, and paraben free, hypoallergenic face, hand, and body shielding lotion. This shielding lotions helps to enhance your skin's hydrating and protective abilities by blocking out harsh moisture-robbing irritants such as pollution which can make your skin dry, as well as block out excessive sun radiation which will cause your skin to age.

In short, this product helps restore the moisture in the dry areas of your skin to keep it soft, healthy, and youthful. How awesome is that?

So I'm going to break this all down from before I started applying it, to now. It all happened in 4 steps. Literally.

1) I had dry areas around nose and on my forehead that were really stubborn to get rid of with regular moisturizers. Even when I would use my moisturizer my skin would still be dry and it was really noticeable, especially when I applied foundation.

2) It said to initially apply it every 2-8 hours, then when the moisture level in my face improved I was to apply it every 12-24 hours. So that's what I did.

3) I applied this moisturizer to my face for the first few days every 2-8 hours and I could already see a drastic change in the softness and appearance of my face. The dry spots were clearing up and all I had was soft, smooth skin.

4) After I saw the change in my face I started applying it every 12-24 hours, and the rest is history. I STILL have soft, smooth skin. If you keep on applying it every single day, twice a day, you won't ever have any dry spots anywhere again. It also has SPF15 in it, so it's great to use in the summer as well.

I really, honestly reecommend this product. It's great for all skin types, it good for all areas of your skin that may be dry, and it really does work. I was really sick and tired of having dry skin on my forhead and nose and now I'm happy to say that it is gone, and all thanks to this product.

Maybelline Stylish Smokes Look - Amethyst Smokes
